b’day ensembles

May 9, 2010

It was Scooby’s b’day last weekend. We had a zoo b’day.

I had made some easy backpacks for the girls to carry some snacks. Cut out the animals from an animal printed fabric. Personalised it using the freezer paper stencils. Scooby could easily do it for me.

Made a two layered-tiered skirt for Scooby. Very easy. Actually three rectangles of different widths joined together. Self-folded waistband.

Patched a t-shirt and added a fabric flower.

I did not know making a pair of leggings would be so easy. Traced an existing pair. Added seam allowance and turning allowance for the waist. And ready to be stitched. Great. I know more leggings will happen with lace, bows, flowers, etc. in the coming months.

Finally converted the smocked panel into a skirt.

Made ties to match with a little embroidered rosette on fabric covered buttons laced into a rubber-band.

Good fun.
